He didn’t end his South Carolina career as a starter, but he’ll have shot at the NFL
Blake Camper had a roller coaster ride of a final season at South Carolina.
But Saturday night, he tweeted he’ll get a shot at the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers.
The 6-foot-8 lineman was injured as a sophomore, worked his way into starting the first six games of his senior season, but gave way to true freshman Dylan Wonnum.
His teammates selected him as one of the Unselfish Award winners on the team after the season.
Camper was forced into the lineup as a true freshman because of injury. He got one start early in his sophomore season, and then an ankle injury sidelined him.
As a junior, he made a pair of starts at right tackle, in part because of injuries to Zack Bailey.
Offensive line coach Eric Wolford said he improved his work in the weight room this past offseason, which put him in position to start early on.
