Reserve South Carolina offensive tackle Jordon Carty put his name into the NCAA transfer portal, a school spokesman confirmed Friday night.

The 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive tackle was in his third year in Columbia from South Florida.

Carty did not play in any games in his three seasons.

A three-star prospect put of high school, he was rated one of the top 850 recruits nationally in the 247 composite rankings.

He had offers from Mississippi State, N.C. State and Kentucky.

“They have some great coaches,” Carty said when he signed in 2017. “I love it. It took a long time to figure it out. I feel closer to home and I love it.”

He was a late add to that class in the midst of a transition from Shawn Elliott to Eric Wolford at offensive line coach.

The Gamecocks have four offensive line starters returning from the 2019 line, plus a set of reserves who got playing time.
