Rounding up some of the damage Javon Kinlaw is doing at the Senior Bowl

Early on during his Senior Bowl week in Mobile, Alabama, former South Carolina defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw impressed a few folks with his honesty and story about his difficult upbringing.

Then he took the field and started impressing folks with his play.

More than a few clips of his work against other top college seniors have gone online, many showing the skills that have him in the conversation for the top half of the first round in the 2020 NFL draft. News broke Thursday that Kinlaw will shut things down after the strong performance because of knee tendinitis.

A roundup of a few:

He had a couple meetings with former Clemson guard John Simpson

Working through some drills

One of the few players who slowed him was former Gamecocks commit Lloyd Cushenberry who ended up at LSU

Kinlaw was a Associated Press First-Team All-American after a season in which he put up 35 tackles with six sacks and four QB hurries. He drew double teams and often terrorized quarterbacks, whipping Georgia’s front in the biggest upset of the season.

The 6-foot-5, 315 pounder committed to USC out of Goose Creek High School, but had to spend a year in junior college. He worked into the lineup as a sophomore, had a good but not over-the-top season as a junior and then turned down the NFL for one more college season.

He made good with a dominant campaign.

CBS ranks him as the No. 13 player in the 2020 draft. Sports Illustrated had him at the same spot.
