South Carolina’s Rashad Fenton, Chris Lammons are Super Bowl champions!

Rashad Fenton and Chris Lammons shared three seasons in Columbia in South Carolina’s football secondary.

Now the former Gamecocks and current Kansas City Chiefs will get their Super Bowl rings together.

Fenton was part of a KC defense that Sunday helped win Super Bowl 54 against the San Francisco 49ers. Lammons was a practice squad player for the Chiefs and will also get his ring.

Former South Carolina player Rod Wilson is also a special team assistant with the Chiefs.

In the moments after the game, Fox cameras caught Fenton and former Gamecocks receiver Deebo Samuel, who plays for San Francisco, hugging. Samuel had 53 rushing yards and 39 receiving.

Fenton finished the game with one tackle.

For the season, Fenton had 15 tackles, one interception and broke up four passes. Lammons signed with KC in December and did not play in a game. He spent most of the season with Miami.

Fenton grew into a three-year starter in Columbia, taking a central role in Will Muschamp’s first three seasons. His production was sometimes up and down, but he played quite well in 2017 and finished his career with five interceptions, 19 passes defended and 122 tackles.

He was a sixth round selection in NFL Draft by the Chiefs.

Lammons made a big jump his final season, going from an inconsistent cornerback to a reliable safety. He posted four career interceptions with 17 passes defended and had 79 tackles as a senior.

Lammons and Fenton join a group of Gamecocks players with Super Bowl rings that includes Robert Brooks, Emanuel Cook, Steve Courson, Brad Edwards, Lemuel Jeanpierre, Jamar Nesbit, Dan Reeves, Sidney Rice, George Rogers, Max Runager, Jay Saldi, Duce Staley, Darian Stewart, Stephon Gilmore, Alshon Jeffery and Anthony Wright.
