Scholarship lineman leaves, freshman jersey numbers, other changes on USC roster

South Carolina released its football roster for the spring of 2020. It included a few position changes, departures and new faces.

Some details:

Defensive lineman Griffin Gentry is no longer on the roster. He was a scholarship member of the transition class and committed to the program between Steve Spurrier’s resignation and Will Muschamp’s hiring.

Gentry played in four career games, making six tackles, all in 2018. He flipped from Troy in November of 2015, when Shawn Elliott was the team’s interim coach.

The freshman jersey numbers are out:

RB MarShawn Lloyd 1

QB Luke Doty 4

DB Dominick Hill 11

QB Collin Hill 15

DB O’Donnell Fortune 25

LB Mo Kaba 32

OL Tyshawn Wannamaker 62

OL Trai Jones 72

OL Jazston Turnetine 75

OL Vershon Lee 77

WR Mike Wyman 87.

Defensive lineman-turn-offensive lineman M.J. Webb is back on defense.

Redshirt junior walk-on quarterback turned receiver Bailey Hart is gone as well. Walk-ons, Eddie Buckhouse, Caleb Jenerette, Jazuun Outlaw, Alex DeLoach, Cameron Johnson and Jalyn Dubose also left the roster.
