Former Gamecock joining Shawn Elliott’s staff with Georgia State football

Bryson Allen-Williams has landed his first college coaching opportunity.

The former South Carolina standout will join Shawn Elliott’s staff at Georgia State as a grad assistant. Allen-Williams announced the move Friday on his Twitter page.

Elliott, the Camden native, coached at South Carolina from 2010-16 seasons and was interim coach for the Gamecocks when Steve Spurrier stepped down in 2015.

Allen-Williams played in 43 games at linebacker for the Gamecocks from 2014-2018. He finished with 107 tackles, 25 for loss and 6 ½ sacks.

Allen-Williams earned an invite to Oakland Raiders camp last year before being cut.
