Report: Former Gamecock Brandon Shell headed to West Coast for next NFL opportunity
Brandon Shell is headed to the West Coast.
The former South Carolina offensive lineman will sign with the Seattle Seahawks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal is reportedly for two years and $11 million.
Wednesday was the first day of the new NFL year but teams weren’t allowed to announce signings officially because players haven’t passed physicals.
Shell was a fifth-round draft pick by the New York Jets in 2016 and has appeared in 49 games, 40 starts for the Jets. He started 11 games at tackle last season for New York.
At South Carolina, Shell made 47 consecutive starts from 2012-15.
