Clemson, South Carolina, now the NFL: Feaster to sign with AFC South squad
The NFL combine didn’t give former South Carolina and Clemson running back Tavien Feaster a chance. But an NFL team will.
NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero tweeted Feaster sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars moments after the 2020 draft came to a close. Soon after, Feaster posted a tweet indicating he’s headed to Duval County.
In his final college season, he put up a team-high 672 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He went from the Upstate to Columbia in the summer of 2019 as a graduate transfer. He split carries with longtime Gamecocks starter Rico Dowdle.
Before that, Feaster was a part of two national title teams with the Tigers. He backed up Wayne Gallman as a freshman, started for most of his sophomore season and eventually gave way to Travis Etienne. Across three seasons, he ran for 1,330 yards and ranks second in program history in yards per carry.
At 6-foot, 220, Feaster’s best attribute might be his speed. He was a high-end sprinter in high school and used as a versatile threat running and through the air in high school. As a borderline five-star, he had more than nearly 2,300 rushing yards his final two seasons and just short of 2,000 receiving.
