Where South Carolina ranks in how many football offers it hands out

This time of year, college football coaching staff’s such as South Carolina’s are often out on the road, seeing talent and handing out offers.

The coronavirus pandemic wiped out their travel, but it didn’t stop the offers.

Blair Sanderson of Rivals tallied up the 2021 offer totals for every Power 5 program. The Gamecocks were a middle-tier team on that front, coming in tied for 30th with 221 offers at that point.

Nebraska and Tennessee lead the way with 392 offers. The SEC totals and rankings are as follows:

No. 2 (nationally) Tennessee - 392

No. 5 Kentucky - 317

No. 12 Ole Miss 285

No. 21 Vanderbilt 254

No. 24 LSU 243

No. 25 Arkansas 241

No. 26 Florida 238

No. 31 South Carolina 221

No. 32 Missouri 216

No. 37 Georgia 196

No. 38 Texas A&M 194

No. 39 Auburn 193

No. 40 Alabama 185

No. 44 Mississippi State 156

The Gamecocks currently only have six commits, one four-star. They had the No. 18 class in the country last season.

South Carolina’s rival, Clemson, has put out the second-fewest offers in the country with 69.

Looking ahead to 2022 Sanderson has USC at 24th nationally with 80 offers.
