The Muschamps play host to a wedding
Across the country, a large number of weddings have simply not happened because of the coronavirus pandemic. The often require travel, large groups of people, older relatives involved, and that’s to say nothing of venues being closed by various state and municipal governments.
But Friday night one member of South Carolina’s football staff had his wedding, and he did it at the home of his boss, Will Muschamp.
The coach tweeted out a photo of equipment manager Larry Waters and his new wife Sarah at his island home congratulating them on their marriage.
According to the couple’s wedding website, the event was supposed to be at a venue near downtown Columbia.
Waters has been a member of South Carolina’s staff since Muschamp arrived. Before that he worked at Alabama for five years as part of Nick Saban’s program.
According to his official school bio, he is a 2010 grad of Mississippi State, where he was a student manager. He also spent several years with the New Orleans Saints, first as an equipment intern and then as a full-time equipment assistant.
Muschamp’s home certainly cuts the image of a picturesque spot for a wedding, as the 9,400 square foot house with a 2,600-square foot guest house sits on a 1.74-acre island on Lake Murray near Irmo.
After Muschamp’s tweet, several other Gamecocks tweeted congratulations.
