Former Gamecock running back cut by NFL’s Jaguars
Tavien Fester’s journey took him from Spartanburg to Clemson to South Carolina, where he led the Gamecocks in rushing, and of late to a shot at the NFL.
But after signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars following the draft, he’ll be forced to take another step.
The Jaguars cut Feaster on Saturday to get to 80 active players on the roster. He was one of five players waived or cut.
In his lone season in Columbia, Feaster ran for 672 yards with five touchdowns despite missing two games and parts of a few others. He joined USC as a graduate transfer.
Before that, Feaster was an explosive runner for the Tigers. He was a backup on the 2016 national title team, started parts of the next year, but ultimately slipped into a backup role.
For his college career, Feaster ran for 2,002 yards and 20 touchdowns.
