South Carolina unveils uniform combo for season opener vs Tennessee
It’s South Carolina football game week at last, and that means one thing: Battle Armor is back.
The Gamecocks revealed their uniform for the opener against Tennessee, a combination of black jerseys, black helmets and black pants.
The reveal video paid homage the tumultuous offseason that prevented the Gamecocks community from coming together.
South Carolina is opening the season a few weeks later than planned after the coronavirus pandemic scrambled the schedule and led to the Gamecocks facing 10 SEC teams across 11 weeks.
The Vols won the meeting last season 41-21, snapping a three-game winning streak for USC. Tennessee leads the overall series 26-10-2.
Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. in Williams-Brice Stadium. The game will be on SEC Network.
