USC Gamecocks Football

Game time, TV details set for South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt

Fans won’t be in the stadium, so the won’t have to get up too early for this one.

South Carolina’s football team will take on Vanderbilt in Nashville at noon on SEC Network on Oct. 10, the conference announced Monday. It will be the Gamecocks’ second road trip in as many weeks after a traveling to Florida this week.

The Gamecocks lead the series with the Commodores 25–4, with a winning streak that extends back to 2009. Last year’s meeting was a low-scoring defensive affair and South Carolina’s lone win in the second half of the season.

The game projects to be the first one in which the Gamecocks will be favored this season, possibly one of only two such games this year.

USC is coming off a disappointing 31-27 loss to Tennessee in Williams-Brice Stadium, while Vandy showed well in a 17-12 loss to Texas A&M in College Station.

The Gamecocks (0-1, 0-1 SEC) first face Florida (1-0, 1-0) in Gainesville at noon this week. The Commodores (0-1, 0-1) host LSU on Saturday.

After a home opener, South Carolina will have only one other game at Williams-Brice before Nov. 7.
