Lou Holtz’s Orlando home damaged by two-alarm fire
Former South Carolina coach Lou Holtz’s Orlando mansion was damaged extensively after a lightning strike caused a two-alarm fire Sunday night.
The home appraises for $1.6 million.
Holtz could not be reached by the Orlando Sentinel on Monday but apparently was uninjured.
More than 60 Orlando firefighters and 26 fire vehicles responded at 2:42 a.m. to the gated Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, fire department spokeswoman Ashley Papagni told the paper.
The fire was “knocked down” by 3:21 a.m. and extinguished at 5:59 a.m. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.”
