South Carolina senior defensive back Jaylan Foster was named to the Walter Camp Second-Team All-America squad on Thursday.

“Wow a childhood dream achieved,” Foster posted to Twitter.

The former walk-on defensive back from Duncan came up with five interceptions in 2021, the most for a Gamecock defender since 2004. He lead the Gamecocks this year with 90 tackles, 4.0 for loss, two sacks, two pass break-ups and two forced fumbles.

Foster is the first Gamecock to earn All-America honors since Javon Kinlaw in 2019. He is also the first Gamecock to earn a spot on the Walter Camp All-America team since A.J. Cann was a second-team selection in 2014.
