Former Gamecock finds new home with Deion Sanders’ Jackson State Tigers
Keveon Mullins has found a new college football spot.
Mullins, a former tight end at South Carolina, will join Deion Sanders at Jackson State after entering the transfer portal in December.
Mullins made the announcement in a graphic shared to social media, which he posted with the caption “New Beginning..”
Mullins, a 6-foot-3, 242-pound tight end, totaled three receptions for 110 yards in two games in the 2020 season. He did not record any stats in 2021. He moved from wide receiver to tight end in spring 2020.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Mullins was a four-star prospect out of the class of 2019, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was the No. 9 player out of Tennessee and the No. 18 athlete in the class.
Mullins will have three years of eligibility remaining after taking a redshirt season in 2019 and receiving an extra year of eligibility due to COVID-19 relief given to athletes for the 2020 season.
Mullins was one of seven Gamecocks to enter the transfer portal following the 2021 regular season.
