Snowy scenes from Colonial Life Arena, Williams-Brice Stadium and other USC landmarks
The University of South Carolina became a winter wonderland overnight Friday as measurable snow fell in the Columbia area for the first time in years.
“Snowball fights on the Horseshoe tonight!” interim school President Harris Pastides posted to Twitter on Friday night. “Haven’t seen that since 2014. Enjoy it while you can, students. Melting starts tomorrow! Have fun and Be safe.”
Guests who attended Friday night’s Alabama concert at Colonial Life Arena walked in with cold weather and walked out to snow falling and on the ground.
While an official accumulation of 2 inches was recorded at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport, other areas of the Midlands of South Carolina saw between 1 and 3 inches of snowfall.
The scene produced these photos and videos shared on social media from Colonial Life Arena, Williams-Brice Stadium, Founders Park and other USC landmarks. Enjoy:
