USC DB transfer finds new football home in American Athletic Conference, report says
Former South Carolina cornerback Dominick Hill has reportedly found a landing spot.
Hill will transfer from USC to Temple, per a report from Chris Hummer of 247Sports. He’s the fourth player to depart the program who has found a new home.
The former three-star recruit and Orlando, Florida product was part of the 2020 recruiting class — Will Muschamp’s final class before he was fired in November 2020. Hill played in 12 games this season, recording six tackles on the year.
South Carolina has had eight scholarship players depart the program since Oct. 4, though the Gamecocks have been active in the transfer portal themselves.
USC has already landed commitments from Oklahoma imports Spencer Rattler and Austin Stogner, James Madison receiver Antwane Wells Jr., Wake Forest’s Christian Beal-Smith and Georgia running back Lovasea Carroll. Defensively, South Carolina has also earned pledges from N.C. State’s Terrell Dawkins and Central Michigan safety Devonni Reed.
The Gamecocks finished their first season under head coach Shane Beamer with a 7-6 record. Beamer became just the second coach in school history to win a bowl game in his first year after South Carolina downed North Carolina 38-21 in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on Dec. 30.
