Former South Carolina standout Travian Robertson looks to be officially headed to Louisiana.

Robertson, who spent three of the last four seasons on Shawn Elliott’s staff at Georgia State, was expected to be the new defensive line coach at Tulane, per a report on Sunday from ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.

The former Gamecocks defensive tackle changed his Twitter profile picture and header to reflect the move on Tuesday afternoon.

Robertson was on staff at Georgia State beginning in 2017 as a graduate assistant. He left Atlanta to coach the defensive line at Albany State before returning as an assistant defensive line coach at Georgia State in 2020 and 2021.

The one-time South Carolina standout was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. He also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders during his four-year professional career.

Robertson lettered four times during his time in Columbia, earning Southeastern Conference All-Academic honors and serving as a team captain during the 2011 season.

The former Gamecock is one of three assistant coaches to leave Elliott’s staff in the last month after offensive coordinator Josh Stepp — the twin brother of South Carolina receiver’s coach Justin Stepp — and defensive graduate assistant Bryson Allen-Williams departed for new opportunities.

Stepp is expected to be the new tight ends coach at Louisville. Allen-Williams, who also played his college football at South Carolina, is joining Mack Brown’s staff at North Carolina as a defensive graduate assistant.
