South Carolina receiver enters transfer portal
Another South Carolina pass-catcher is in the transfer portal.
Second-year receiver Sam Reynolds has entered the transfer portal, a USC spokesperson confirmed to The State on Saturday.
TheBigSpur’s John Whittle first reported the news.
Reynolds made his first career appearance in a game in USC’s win over North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl. He did not record any stats.
The Alabama product was South Carolina’s longest-tenured commitment in the 2021 class. Reynolds was rated a three-star recruit and the No. 885 player in the class, per 247Sports.
Reynolds’ expected departure comes just one day after one-time walk-on receiver Trey Adkins announced he would transfer from South Carolina as a graduate on Friday.
South Carolina has also seen receivers E.J. Jenkins, Rico Powers, Eric Shaw and Ger-Cari Caldwell enter the portal since November.
USC added James Madison’s Antwane Wells Jr. and Arkansas State’s Corey Rucker via the transfer portal since the 2021 season concluded. The Gamecocks will also return Josh Vann, Dakereon Joyner and Xavier Legette from last year’s squad, while adding 2022 signees Kylic Horton and Landon Samson.
