Gamecock fans get first look at new LED lights in Williams-Brice Stadium
South Carolina fans got a sneak peek Thursday at what the future of night games at WIlliams-Brice Stadium will look like.
In a video posted to Twitter by GamecockCentral’s Mike Uva, the brand-new LED lights that were recently installed in the stadium could be seen flashing white and garnet.
Another video posted to Twitter by @Gamecock_Kyle showed the lights from the inside of the stadium.
Gamecock faithful will get their first opportunity to see the lights in game action during the season opener on Sept. 3 when South Carolina takes on Georgia State at 7:30 p.m. So far, that’s the first and only known night game on the schedule.
The installation of the lights began in May and are a part of a larger series of renovations being made to Williams-Brice Stadium that include new ribbon boards and an expansion to the west main concourse.
