The latest bowl predictions for South Carolina football were released this week. One has USC taking a trip to Florida. Another projects a game in Alabama.

247Sports analyst Brad Crawford placed South Carolina in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida in the network’s most recent bowl game predictions, with the Gamecocks playing against Pittsburgh of the ACC. If they played in the Gator Bowl, the game would take place on Dec. 30. USC hasn’t played in the Gator Bowl since 1987.

Brett McMurphy also released his prediction for USC this week. McMurphy placed Shane Beamer’s squad against BYU in the Birmingham Bowl on Dec. 27.

A few other outlets predicted a Birmingham Bowl (Alabama) finish for South Carolina, but against different opponents. Jerry Palm of CBS predicts that the Gamecocks will play Maryland, while College Football News has them playing against Louisville.

Earlier this summer, Athlon Sports predicted that South Carolina would play West Virginia on Dec. 28 in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee. Sporting News also placed USC in the Liberty Bowl, facing Kansas State.

South Carolina was picked by media to finish fifth in the SEC East in 2022. The team opens its season on Sept. 3 against Georgia State.

The Gamecocks defeated North Carolina in last year’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.
