EJ Jenkins found the end zone in Game 1 with his new college team.

The former South Carolina tight end/receiver scored on a 13-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter Monday against Clemson, in a game played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The TD cut Clemson’s lead to 14-10 with 9:47 to go in the third quarter.

Jenkins played one season with the Gamecocks after starting his career at FCS St. Francis (Pa.), where he played with former USC quarterback Jason Brown. Brown transferred to Virginia Tech this offseason.

“Thank god for allowing me to continue this journey,” Jenkins wrote after his May decision to transfer to Georgia Tech. “In addition, thank you to all the coaches that reached out during this process. With that being said I will be finishing my college football career in the A!”

Jenkins, a 6-foot-7, 240-pound pass catcher from Virginia, caught eight passes for 117 yards in 12 games last season at South Carolina.

His touchdown catch Monday gave him three catches for 34 yards at the time of the score.
