South Carolina defensive starters Jordan Strachan and Mo Kaba will miss the Georgia game at least, Shane Beamer said Sunday, after the two were hurt in Saturday’s loss to Arkansas.

Beamer on Saturday night said the injury outlook didn’t “look good” for the two of them.

They’ll “certainly” miss the next game, Beamer told reporters Sunday evening. He didn’t offer specifics, but both appeared to suffered leg injuries Saturday.

“We’ll have some more information for you on that once we’re able to talk to those guys a little bit more face to face,” Beamer said of Kaba and Strachan.

Kaba, a junior, was injured in the second quarter while pressuring KJ Jefferson in the backfield. He was helped off the field and didn’t put much weight on his leg.

“Appreciate everyone checking up on me and keeping me in their prayers i’ll be back better than ever love y’all gamecock nation,” Kaba posted Sunday night to Twitter.

Strachan, a super senior, exited the game in the third quarter after a pass rush and was seen on crutches, as reported by David Cloninger of the Post & Courier.

On the broadcast, ESPN’s Kris Budden said Strachan “found his family in the stands, they were crying together. His family went into the locker room. It does not look good right now.”

The team played Saturday’s game without defensive backs RJ Roderick (arm) and David Spaulding (leg).

Sophomore Gilber Edmond and junior transfer Terrell Dawkins were listed in the outside linebacker rotation behind Strachan on the latest depth chart. Senior Sherrod Greene was listed as Kaba’s backup at middle linebacker and becomes the presumptive starter.

The Gamecocks return home to face No. 1 Georgia this Saturday.

There’s a chance that transfer wide receiver Corey Rucker (foot) will be able to play this week, Beamer said Sunday. The coach also indicated that Roderick said he felt great and intends to play against Georgia.
