South Carolina starting QB Spencer Rattler was 6-of-9 passing for 49 yards in the first half. The Gamecocks got into Kentucky territory four-straight drives with no points to show for it. Rattler was responsible for two turnovers, one on a lost fumble and the other on an interception.

Shane Beamer at the half to SEC Network, on Spencer Rattler and the offense: “We’ve got to continue to generate runs. We’ve got to help him as well. That last interception, he tried to throw it up to give Stogner a chance to make a play. We’ve got to give him a ball that he can go up and make a play on. The protection’s been good for the most part. He just needs to trust it.”

Christian Beal-Smith out for South Carolina

South Carolina will be without backup tailback Christian Beal-Smith because of an undisclosed injury. USC will also be without defensive tackle Alex “Boogie” Huntley, receiver Corey Rucker, safety R.J. Roderick and offensive lineman Trai Jones, per the team’s travel roster.
