South Carolina adds FCS school to future football schedule
South Carolina has added another future football game to its ledger.
USC has added a 2026 matchup against Towson to its existing nonconference schedule, per a news release. The game will be played at Williams-Brice Stadium on Sept. 12, 2026 and replaces a previously announced contest against Wofford.
Towson athletic director Steve Eigenbrot previously served as a deputy director of athletics at South Carolina, along with a bevvy of other roles within the USC athletic department and Gamecock Club before leaving for his current role in March.
South Carolina’s 2026 schedule will now include nonconference games against Miami (Fla.) on Sept. 5 and at Clemson on Nov. 28 and the aforementioned Towson game.
Towson plays in the FCS as members of the Colonial Athletic Association. The Tigers have twice won their league under current head coach Rob Ambrose in 2011 and 2012.
USC is currently in its second season under head coach Shane Beamer. The Gamecocks are 4-2 and 1-2 in Southeastern Conference play heading into a bye week.
