USC lands transfer commitment from dynamic ex-Western Kentucky TE, reports say
South Carolina’s tight end room received another boost on Wednesday.
Joshua Simon will transfer from Western Kentucky to South Carolina, GamecockCentral and TheBigSpur reported.
Simon played high school football in the Palmetto State at Crestwood before going onto WKU in the class of 2019. He picked WKU over reported offers from Wake Forest, Georgia Southern and East Carolina.
In four years with the Hilltoppers, Simon recorded 84 catches for 1,131 yards and 16 touchdowns. He set a career high for touchdown receptions in a season this fall with seven.
South Carolina’s tight end room took a hit following the regular season with Jaheim Bell (Florida State) and Austin Stogner’s (Oklahoma) transfers. The Gamecocks also lost Traevon Kenion, who stepped away from football, and are set to lose Nate Adkins after the bowl game when his eligibility is used up.
USC has since landed a commitment from Florida transfer tight end Nick Elksnis and Oklahoma transfer Trey Knox.
They signed three at the position committed in the 2023 class in Reid Mikeska, Connor Cox and Kamron Sandlin.
