South Carolina football lands linebacker transfer from ACC
After losing a pair of linebackers — Stone Blanton and Grayson “Pup” Howard — to the transfer portal, South Carolina has replenished its LB room.
After notching a pledge from Charlotte transfer Demetrius Knight earlier this week, the Gamecocks earned a commitment from Pitt transfer Bangally Kamara on Saturday.
Kamara enetred the transfer portal on Dec. 4 and posted offers from Mississippi State, UCF, Houston, Baylor and Michigan State.
But he will transfer to South Carolina with one year of eligibility and a ton of experience under his belt. In his four seasons at Pitt, starting in 2020, Kamara saw time in 47 games but really began to blossom the past two years.
During his junior and senior seasons combined, the 230-pound linebacker tallied over 100 tackles, 9.5 for loss and a trio of sacks.
