USC football preseason schedule; all practices closed

South Carolina will begin preseason football practices next week, with all of the workouts currently set to be closed to the public.

Players report for fall camp on Monday, Aug. 3. The first full practice is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the new practice fields.

All practices are closed to the public and media unless Steve Spurrier determines otherwise.

USC typically opens anywhere from a handful of days to a week or more of its first preseason workouts. Around half of the spring practices were closed after years of all of those sessions being open.

Spurrier will hold his annual media golf tournament Wednesday morning. Other key dates to remember: media day will be on Sunday, Aug. 9; and Fan Appreciation Day is set for 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
