50 Opinions, Day 36: Between now and the season-opener against North Carolina on Sept. 3, we will ask 50 people: “What do you think about the Gamecocks in 2015?” We’re counting down the days until kickoff. Today’s panelist is Gary Danielson, CBS college football broadcaster:

“You know, they are a bit of an enigma for me, I have to admit that. A year ago, I thought they’d have a tough time figuring out the quarterback position after Connor Shaw. That’s a big challenge, and Dylan Thompson did a great job. I have covered Steve for 25 years. I am always amazed that he doesn’t get enough credit for how disciplined he is and how well he coaches his offense. Everybody thinks he’s a run and gun, throw the balls out there guy. He’s not. He’s a very strong tactician. He may almost play it down. He recruits better than people give him credit for. He knows how to put his people in position, and if you have a weakness, he will exploit it. With the type of athletes they have, I have to think they are going to be in the middle of the pack in the SEC East, and if they’re not, that’s a problem.”
