TOP STORYLINES FOR THE GAME
Can the USC offense get on track? The Gamecocks entered the open week fresh off a game with a high point total, but the defense did a lot of the heavy lifting. More importantly, the offense struggled to play from ahead and even move the ball all that much through most of the second half. A week off could mean LaNorris Sellers and Rocket Sanders are more refreshed, but the Aggies have a defense that’s both talented and solid.
Who is leading the A&M offense? Some teams have backup quarterbacks who match the starter’s style. That’s not the Aggies. Marcel Reed is a pure runner who’s already made three starts, but he didn’t hold the job when starter Conner Weigman returned from injury. The sense is that Reed will start Saturday, and that makes the run game extra dangerous, at the cost of lowering the ceiling of the passing game.

The National Weather Service predicts Columbia will be mostly cloudy, with a temperature near 70 degrees at kickoff Saturday.
