50 Opinions, Day 35: Between now and the season-opener against North Carolina on Sept. 3, we will ask 50 people: “What do you think about the Gamecocks in 2015?” We’re counting down the days until kickoff. Today’s panelist is Phil Kornblut, SportsTalk radio host:

“Hard to handicap (USC), because you don’t know about quarterback. If you had a better feel about who the quarterback was going to be and how he might play, I could sit here and tell you eight or nine (wins). I’d be very conservative right now and say .500 would be a reasonable expectation. Now, if Connor Mitch goes out there, or Lorenzo Nunez or whoever, and blows it up, then it could be a different team. I would not, today, expect anything more than .500.”
