Williams-Brice Stadium donor plaques approved
South Carolina’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved the addition of nine donor plaques to Springs Brooks Plaza on Wednesday.
The plaques, which like the plaza will be ready for the Gamecocks’ home football opener on Sept. 12, will be featured on the plaza, stadium gates, the gameday center and one bench. All are in recognition of leadership gifts for the development of the new area surrounding Williams-Brice Stadium.
Tami Springs Brooks, the namesake of the plaza, will have two aluminum plaques. The first quotes James 1:17 and has a quote from Springs Brooks and athletics director Ray Tanner. Springs Brooks, a 1980 USC graduate, said, “God’s blessings have enabled me and my children, Christi, Jerrett, Boni Belle and Landon, to give this beautiful plaza to our University. It is a privilege to be a Gamecock!”
The second plaque will list USC’s Board of Trustees and credit Springs Brooks and her family. Each will be dedicated on Sept. 11.
