TOP STORYLINES

Time to make a little history? South Carolina jumped into the College Football Playoff rankings at No. 21. If the Gamecocks can top the Tigers, it will mark the first winning SEC season in Shane Beamer’s tenure. A winning SEC record would be USC’s first since the 2017 Gamecocks and only the second since 2013. If Shane Beamer’s squad can win comfortably, it would mean closing conference play strong with four victories against solid to good teams.

Which Missouri team is going to show up? The Tigers spent much of this past Saturday looking like they couldn’t move the ball in a pure rock fight, and then popped a 75-yard game-winning drive against a good defense with a backup QB. It’s not clear who is going to start behind center — Brady Cook or Drew Pyne. It’s not clear if they found something with that offense. But this Tigers team at least has the ability to be an enormous pain to face.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR COLUMBIA, SC

The National Weather Service predicts Columbia will be partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid-60s around kickoff.

ESPN FPI GAME PREDICTION

ESPN’s Football Power Index gives South Carolina a 69.6% chance to win the game.

BETTING ODDS

The Gamecocks are a 13.5-point favorite against the Tigers, according to VegasInsider’s consensus line. The over/under is 43.5 points.
