TOP STORYLINES FOR THE GAME
Stay healthy: The main goal beyond victory for the Gamecocks is making sure the talent is in good shape for Clemson. That might mean seeing more of quarterback Robby Ashford (for LaNorris Sellers) and Oscar Adaway (for Rocket Sanders), plus getting the solid group of reserve defenders a good bit of work.
How soon is it over?: Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks are on a serious roll, and these Terriers are not nearly as strong as they were the last time these teams met in 2017. This has the potential to get ugly, but it remains to be seen how long the Terriers can keep things respectable.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA
The National Weather Service predicts Columbia, South Carolina will be mostly clear with a high near 62 degrees at the start of the game on Saturday, the dipping into the 50s by game’s end.
ESPN FPI GAME PREDICTION
ESPN’s Football Power Index gives South Carolina a 99% chance to win the game.
POINT SPREAD
The Gamecocks are a 42.5-point favorite against the Terriers, according to FanDuel. The over/under is 49.5 points.
INJURY REPORT
Tight end Brady Hunt won’t play this week (or next week vs. Clemson) after being injured late in last Saturday’s win over Missouri, Beamer said. USC’s coach on his Thursday radio show expressed some confidence that Josh Simon, Judge Collier and Michael Smith could all play against Wofford, though he was less certain about receiver Jared Brown.
