Tigers stopped on fourth down
Clemson’s best drive of the first quarter ended with no points. The Tigers went for it on fourth-and-1 at the 11 but South Carolina’s Demetrius Knight tackled Phil Mafah at line of scrimmage to end the drive.
Early turnover for Gamecocks
South Carolina had a 38-yard run from LaNorris Sellers on first drive but the drive ended with a Sellers’ fumble at the 24. Clemson’s TJ Parker with the sack, forced fumble and recovery.

Injury report
South Carolina tight end Michael Smith was spotted in warm-ups on the field moving around. Gamecocks’ tight end Josh Simon was fully dressed and going through warm-ups. Both missed last week’s game against Wofford.
USC receiver Jared Brown was considered questionable, accoring to Gamecocks pre-game radio show.
Clemson will be without offensive lineman Tre Howard, who tore his ACL in practice this week. Tigers also might without defensive lineman DeMonte Capehart, who is expected to miss his fourth game with an ankle injury.
