Just under 24 hours after South Carolina concluded its regular season with a 17-14 win over Clemson, the first Gamecock has announced his plans to enter the transfer portal.

Offensive lineman Ni Mansell announced on Sunday afternoon that he plans on leaving Columbia next year.

“I will be entering the portal as a grad transfer,” he wrote on X. “How appreciative I am of USC Football as a whole doesn’t even need to be said or explained.”

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound redshirt senior transferred to South Carolina from Mercer before the 2023 season but a season-ending ankle injury in a September practice kept him sidelined for the entire year. This season, Mansell only participated in the Akron and Wofford wins.

While the transfer portal does not officially open until Monday, Dec. 9, it is common for players to announce their intentions to enter the portal in the days prior to that date.
