USC football breaks in new practice jerseys

South Carolina took to the practice fields for the first time Tuesday in new Under Armour practice jerseys, and they were a hit with players.

“Everybody likes them,” junior safety Jordan Diggs said. “It was fun to come in and see something new and different.”

The Gamecocks’ defense still wears white at practice, with the offensive players in garnet. The new jerseys are lighter with a mesh area that “breathes” better, Diggs said.

“It doesn’t hold a lot of your sweat and it feels good,” he said.

Players didn’t know about the new jerseys until they walked in the locker rooms Tuesday morning.

“Everybody was jumping around. Guys were happy,” Diggs said. “We like these a lot better than the ones from last year.”
