A former South Carolina offensive lineman is headed north to the ACC.

Former Gamecocks offensive tackle Kam Pringle has signed with Syracuse, he announced via social media on Tuesday. Pringle joins the Orange with four years of eligibility remaining after redshirting his lone season at USC in 2024.

Pringle (6-foot-8, 336 pounds) appeared in one game for coach Shane Beamer’s program last season as a true freshman. He was former top 200 national recruit and played at Woodland High School in Dorchester, SC outside Charleston.

He’d entered the transfer portal during the spring window. Beamer said earlier this month Pringle was not on USC’s two-deep depth chart coming out of spring practice.

“He told me, ‘I wanna play and I don’t want to sit on the bench again for another year,’” Beamer said of Pringle. “I don’t like seeing anybody leave that soon. ... But certainly want all of our guys to be happy with their role.”

247Sports ranked Pringle as the No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 5 overall prospect available in the transfer portal at the time of his commitment.

Including players who’ve already signed with other schools, Pringle ranked as the No. 25 offensive tackle and No. 217 player in the transfer portal nationally.

Syracuse was 10-3 and 5-3 in the ACC last year under first-year coach Fran Brown, a former Georgia assistant. It was the team’s first 10-win season since 2018.

Even though he’ll be based in Central New York, Pringle will make an early return to his home state this fall. Syracuse is scheduled to play at Clemson on Saturday, Sept. 20 during Week 4 of the 2025 college football season.
