Game times set for South Carolina’s first three football games of 2025
South Carolina’s 2025 season is coming more into focus after the SEC released game times for the first three weeks of the season.
We’ve already known that South Carolina’s season opener against Virginia Tech in Atlanta will kick off at 3 p.m. Aug. 31 and air on ESPN, but we learned the start times for the Gamecocks’ games against South Carolina State (Sept. 6) and Vanderbilt (Sept. 13).
USC’s Week 2 home opener against the S.C. State Bulldogs will begin at 7 p.m. ET and be streamed on either ESPN+ or SEC Network Plus.
The Gamecocks last faced the FCS Bulldogs back in 2022 — in a game that was moved up to Thursday due to the threat of Hurricane Ian. USC won 50-10.
A week after facing S.C. State, South Carolina will open its SEC slate against Vanderbilt on Sept. 13 at either 7 p.m. or 7:45 p.m. ET and be televised on either ESPN or SEC Network.
After notching a 28-7 win over the Commodores in Nashville last year, the Gamecocks win streak over Vanderbilt now stands at 16.
It is notable that South Carolina will open its home schedule with back-to-back night games. Last season, the Gamecocks only played two night contests — vs Akron and Texas A&M — at Williams-Brice Stadium. USC won both.
