USC QB Watch: Depth chart movement could come Saturday

Could there be some movement on Saturday?

Same answer as throughout preseason camp – we’ll see.

Steve Spurrier will get all of his quarterbacks around the same number of reps during Saturday’s scrimmage and will judge them after reviewing the tape. They’re inching closer to naming the starter simply by the calendar date, but that doesn’t mean they’ll name one just to name one.

“Well, (a quarterback) could sort of move up and down a little bit right now. We haven’t really put them in order,” Spurrier said. “Maybe after the scrimmage, we’ll move somebody a little ahead of somebody, I don’t know. We’ll wait and see how it plays out.”

Connor Mitch has usually taken the first snap during pass skeletons and other warm-ups, but South Carolina has had two fields working during every practice. Perry Orth, Michael Scarnecchia and Lorenzo Nunez should all see playing time on Saturday.
