South Carolina D-line coach Travian Robertson in hospital after car crash
South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson is in a local hospital after being involved in a car accident Friday morning.
Although specific details of the crash are not yet known, a source with knowledge told The State that, as of Friday evening, Robertson was in a room in the trauma ICU at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
In a message board post Friday afternoon, The Big Spur’s Tony Morrell said Roberston, 36, was involved “involved in a head-on collision and had to be taken to the hospital for immediate surgery on his ankle.”
“Travian Robertson was involved in a car accident this morning,” USC coach Shane Beamer said in a statement. “He is currently in the hospital in stable condition. We expect him to make a full recovery and be back out on the field soon. Please keep the families of those involved in the accident in your prayers and respect the Robertson family’s privacy during this time.”
Robertson, a former defensive lineman at South Carolina from 2007-11, is entering his third season as the Gamecocks’ defensive line coach.
USC begins its 2025 season next Sunday against Virginia Tech in Atlanta.
