South Carolina has released new renderings of its proposed renovations to Williams-Brice Stadium.

The project got through its last piece of state red tape on Tuesday, when the state’s fiscal accountability authority approved the Gamecocks’ $350 million budget for the renovations. USC followed through Wednesday with more details and photo renderings of what’s to come.

The big news was the confirmation that South Carolina will demolish the Floyd Building in the north end zone, allowing South Carolina to add almost five times as much concourse space behind the student section.

“This new concourse area,” the release reads, “will feature a ground level with permanent concessions and new restrooms as well as space for students to socialize.”

Importantly, USC is trying to minimize the renovation’s impact on fans during football season.

“Construction on the project will commence following the conclusion of the 2025 season and be completed in three phases between the 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 football seasons,” USC said in a new release. “The first phase between 2025-26 seasons will be the renovation of the general concourses and student section, the second phase between the 2026-27 seasons will include the premium areas including the 100-200 sections and the third phase between the 2027-28 seasons will include the southeast corner of the stadium.”

The major driver of the renovation is upping South Carolina’s SEC-low 18 suites to 43 (33 traditional suites and 10 founders suites), but it was also add or renovate nine different club areas.

According to documents South Carolina provided to the state fiscal authority, USC projects revenue from “new tickets” — the added suites and club ares — will exceed $25 million in 2028, over $31 million in 2029 and escalate from there.

In noting that, South Carolina acknowledged that it will lose $9 million annually from the existing seats that it will lose in the construction of the suites and luxury areas. USC hasn’t said how many seats will be lost, but no seats will be affected for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, Athletics Director Jeremiah Donati said.

The changes will also have an impact on the actual football team. As part of the renovations, South Carolina will completely redesign and upgrade its football locker room, coaches locker room, recruiting lounge, training room, interview room, equipment room and more. And the visiting locker room will move from the northwest corner of the stadium to a new spot in the southeast corner.

Conceptual renderings for those changes to locker rooms and football team areas are not yet available.
