South Carolina’s football field is getting a new look. What do you think?

The field at Williams-Brice Stadium has a new look.

After revealing sponsorship logos from Blanchard Machinery earlier this month, along with teasers hinting at new locations for the palmetto trees that were once placed where the logos now inhabit at the 25-yard lines, South Carolina football revealed a third surprise on its X/Twitter account. The field for the Gamecocks’ home opener against South Carolina State will also feature all-Garnet end zones. The typical look in years past featured the Gamecocks and Carolina lettering framed with standard green grass. Some fans estimate that it’s the first time the end zones will feature the Garnet look since 1993. The Gamecocks went 5-6 that season under fifth-year coach Sparky Woods and missed out on a bowl game appearance.

It’s not yet clear if the end zones will stay Garnet for the full season or are a one-off. There’s also been fan speculation that the field will accompany an all-garnet uniform.

South Carolina kicks off against S.C State 7 p.m. Saturday.
