South Carolina drops but jumps Clemson in latest AP Top 25
Both South Carolina and Clemson moved around in the newest Associated Press Top 25 released Sunday.
Clemson, ranked No. 8 last week, is now No. 12 in the AP rankings. South Carolina was ranked No. 10 last week but dropped to No. 11 in the newest AP Top 25.
In this week’s USA Today Coaches Poll, South Carolina moved up from No. 11 to No. 10, while Clemson moved down from No. 8 to No. 11.
Though South Carolina dropped in the AP poll, it was still able to jump ahead of its arch rival in both major college football rankings.
The Gamecocks and Tigers both won their Week Two games/
Dabo Swinney and Clemson held off an upset attempt from a pesky Troy team. The Tigers beat Troy 27-16 for their first win of the season.
Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks improved to 2-0 on the season after a win late Saturday night. South Carolina beat in-state FCS foe S.C. State 38-10.
Both Clemson and South Carolina will play their conference openers in Week Three. Clemson will be on the road against Georgia Tech (12 p.m. kickoff on ESPN) and South Carolina will be at home against Vanderbilt (7:45 p.m. on SEC Network).
