South Carolina football favored beat Kentucky in game’s first betting line

South Carolina is favored to get back in the win column next weekend.

The Vegas sportsbooks project the Gamecocks to beat Kentucky on Sept. 27. South Carolina opened as a 3.5-point favorite, according to the VegasInsider consensus.

As of Sunday morning, FanDuel has South Carolina favored by 5.5 points in the game. More major sportsbooks are likely to add odds on the game throughout the day.

This is the second time in the last three matchups that the Gamecocks are the favorite heading into a matchup with Kentucky, according to VegasInsider’s head-to-head matchup history.

South Carolina beat Kentucky on the road last year 31-6, extending the Gamecocks’ win streak to three-games in the series. The last time Kentucky won in Columbia was in 2021.

The Gamecocks dropped to 2-2 on Saturday with a 29-20 loss to No. 23 Missouri. Kentucky (2-1) is coming off its first bye week of the season.
