Two Gamecock starters declared out for Kentucky game
South Carolina will be without two starters when it takes on Kentucky this Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.
On his weekly radio show on Thursday, Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer announced that South Carolina right tackle Cason Henry and center Nolan Hay will both be out against the Wildcats.
Both started last week against Missouri.
Henry, who started the last 17 games for the Gamecocks, was banged up late in the Vanderbilt game. He returned for the Mizzou game, but was injured on the first play of the game.
Hay, a transfer from Incarnate Word, earned his first start of the season against Missouri, replacing Boaz Stanley at center.
When asked about the depth of his offensive line without two starters, Beamer said he’s very confident.
“We do have a lot of guys who have played football for us on the offensive line,” he said.
Outside of Henry and Hay, a few other Gamecocks appeared on the availability report Thursday night. Here’s the full breakdown:
PROBABLE
- DB Judge Collier
- DL Gabriel Drownlow-Dindy
DOUBTFUL
- DB Buddy Mack
OUT
- OL Cason Henry
- OL Nolan Hay
