South Carolina football an underdog to LSU in first betting line

South Carolina football will hit the road as a double-digit underdog next weekend.

USC opened as a 10-point underdog to the LSU Tigers for Saturday's game in Baton Rouge, according to the VegasInsider consensus.

As of Sunday morning, FanDuel has LSU as a 10.5-point favorite and DraftKings has the Tigers favored by 10 points. More major sportsbooks are likely to add odds on the game throughout the day.

This is the third-straight time LSU has been favored in a matchup with South Carolina, according to VegasInsider. The Gamecocks are is 3-1 against the spread this season while LSU is 2-2.

Both South Carolina (3-2, 1-2 SEC) and LSU (4-1, 1-1 SEC) are coming off bye weeks. Last time out, Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks beat Kentucky at home 35-13 while LSU lost to Ole Miss 24-19 on the road.

LSU currently has a two-game win streak over South Carolina. The Tigers beat the Gamecocks 36-33 last year in Columbia. South Carolina has just two wins over LSU in program history, those came in 1994 and 1930.
