Early kickoff coming for South Carolina football game vs. Oklahoma
The kickoff time is (almost) known for South Carolina and Oklahoma’s first matchup in Williams-Brice Stadium.
South Carolina and Oklahoma will play at noon or 12:45 p.m. on Oct. 18, the SEC announced on Monday. The game will be televised on ABC or SEC Network. The specific time and TV network will be determined after this weekend’s games.
The early kickoff ends a streak of five straight night games for Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks. South Carolina started its season with a 3:30 p.m. kick but has played in a night game in each matchup since. The Gamecocks will play LSU at night this weekend.
This is just the second meeting ever between South Carolina and Oklahoma. Last season, the Gamecocks traveled to Norman and beat the Sooners 35-9.
South Carolina (3-2, 1-2 SEC) is coming off a bye week but beat Kentucky its last time out. Oklahoma beat Kent State 44-0 on Saturday to improve to 5-0 (1-0 SEC) on the year. The Sooners will play Texas this week.
