Weather forecast for College Station
Even though we’ve reached the middle of November, the weather in College Station won’t exactly feel like it, according to AccuWeather.

Top storylines for the game
How will the new player caller fare? Shane Beamer announced last week that wide receiver coach Mike Furrey will be the Gamecocks’ new playcaller after the firing of offensive coordinator Mike Shula. Furrey takes over a South Carolina offense that ranks dead last, or near the bottom, in the SEC of nearly every single statistic. Will Furrey, who has some play-calling experience from his days as a D-II head coach at Limestone and other stops in his career, be able to give the Gamecocks a much-needed jolt? We’ll find out Saturday.
Do bowl hopes die in College Station? South Carolina is currently 3-6 on the year and must win out if it wants to clinch bowl eligibility. The Gamecocks must beat the No. 3 Aggies if their bowl hopes are to survive another week. South Carolina might have some luck on its side, as the Gamecocks sport a 13-5 record in the month of November since Beamer took over in 2021. The Gamecocks are 6-1 in November against ranked opponents during Beamer’s tenure, with one of those wins coming against Texas A&M last season.
Will the Gamecocks drop five in a row? South Carolina has never lost more than four games in a row since Beamer took over the program in 2021. The Gamecocks’ current four-game losing streak ties the worst mark of Beamer’s tenure that was set in the 2023 season. South Carolina hasn’t lost five games in a row since losing six straight in the 2020 season. To make matters worse, the Gamecocks have never won a game in College Station.
South Carolina and Texas A&M players to watch:
South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers: All eyes will be Sellers this week to see if the change at offensive coordinator will affect how he and the rest of the South Carolina offense play. Sellers’ stats this season haven’t exactly lived up to the preseason Heisman hype. He’s thrown for 1,536 yards, just seven touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also only added 158 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
South Carolina DL Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy: South Carolina’s highest-graded defender, according to Pro Football Focus, is making his return to College Station this weekend. Brownlow-Dindy spent the last three years of his career at Texas A&M. He’s already totaled more tackles this season (18) and played in more games this season than he did in all of his time at Texas A&M.
Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed: The dual-threat quarterback has been playing well all year long for the Aggies. Reed has thrown for 2,193 yards this season (seventh in the SEC), 19 touchdowns and six interceptions. He’s thrown multiple touchdowns in all but two games and has only had one game this season where he didn’t throw for a score. Reed has also added 378 yards and six touchdowns on the ground (five of which have come in the last five games).
Texas A&M DE Cashius Howell: Howell has been a force for a strong Texas A&M defensive line. The senior leads the SEC with 10.5 sacks and is third in the conference with 11.5 tackles for loss. Howell has the highest pass rush Pro Football Focus grade (91.2) of any edge rusher in the SEC who has played a minimum of 20% of snaps this year. He is also earning some day one buzz in NFL Draft projections.
